What does the noun Stress Test mean?
Calculating whether you can afford mortgage repayments if interest rates rise. ASIC recommends testing at 2 percentage points above your current rate. Lenders apply their own serviceability buffers, typically 3 percentage points above the loan rate.
How the noun Stress Test is used
We stress-tested our budget at 3% above our current rate and realised we could still cover repayments, which gave us confidence to proceed.
